Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week. One of my favorite weeks of the year. So grateful specifically for one incredible teacher that has been zooming through first grade with us with so much patience and grace, calm and creativity. And for our school counselor that has helped our little human navigate through anxieties related to the pandemic. Teachers are a special kind of people. The good ones stick with us forever. Counting our lucky stars that landed us in a school and community with such great leadership, staff and teachers. And grateful to be part of the team that gets to make them feel the love this week 🥰

We moved this summer into a new home. Trying to get stuff done safely in the house in the midst of the pandemic these past 6 months has felt like an ongoing game of Tetris. We’re in the midst of many “in between” moments in almost every corner of the house, but this view of one of our magnolia bushes just outside my office window is such an important reminder to slow down and be present in the moment. So I’m shifting my focus from “getting it done” to “taking it in”, and hope to enjoy the many different steps that will get me (and the house) to where I want to be. #magnoliasmakemehappy #stayingpresent #takingitin #reallifegameoftetris #createyourhappy

Growing up in Israel, one painful and beautiful thing you never get used to, is how the entire country stops and mourns those that have fallen, or were killed in acts of terror. It breaks my heart that so much time has passed, and so many have died, and that unless you have been personally touched by it, it has been so easy to escape internalizing this horrifying reality. My heart aches for those left behind. And I am so grateful that we have new leaders to guide us through this reality. Pause. Recognize the pain. Mourn. Heal. Remember.
